================================================================= = Unofficial update pack for Aquaria (OpenSourceEdition v1.001) = ================================================================= This version comes with bug fixes, speed enhancements, and a bunch of new features. ==================================== = Troubleshooting & Useful Tricks: = ==================================== - If these builds crash, explode, or behave weird, do not blame bit-blot, they have nothing to do with it. Report bugs to me. Scroll down for contact infos. - The saves, screenshots and config (usersettings.xml) are located at the following locations: * Windows: Program Directory. (For Vista and up, see this topic: http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=464.0) * Linux: ~/.Aquaria/ * Mac OSX: /Users//Library/Application Support/Aquaria/ Note: On OSX Lion and up, the Library folder is hidden by default. Paste the following into a terminal to make it visible: chflags nohidden ~/Library - Aquaria captures your mouse. If you use it in windowed mode, press Ctrl+G to ungrab the cursor so it can leave the window. It can be re-grabbed with the same key combo. - If sound cuts out or singing/shooting rapidly causes stuttering, try prebuffering game audio. To do this, set in your usersettings.xml. - If mouse control is all weird, disable joystick/gamepad support. There might be a program/device active that sends bogus joystick commands. - Savegames are compatible across game versions and operating systems. Copy and enjoy. It is even possible to load saves from the Android version! - If you use multiple operating systems and own a copy of the game for only one OS, you can easily crossgrade. Get an executable for your respective OS and copy the data files. - There is a quick-quit option: Alt+F4 on Windows and Linux, or Command+Q on Mac OSX. - Visit http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/ for anything else. ================================== = Notes on some config settings: = ================================== In your usersettings.xml, the following options might need an explanation: ** SYSTEM: ** Sets your preferred locale. Translated files will be taken from locales//... if they exist. "" means autodetect. You can use full or half locale codes - example for russian: "ru_RU" or just "ru". The game tries the short locale if a file isn't found for the full locale code. "-" means disable localisation (always use english and ignore other locale data). Set this to 1 to enable script warnings and fast start (always skip the intro). This will also enable cheats and allow you to edit ALL maps in the game. Not recommended for regular gameplay. ** AUDIO: ** This uses more RAM and the game takes slightly longer to load, but it needs less CPU & time when decoding audio. ** VIDEO: ** Activates an additional blur effect for spirit form. When Naija sings, the notes around her will have an additional glow and emit water ripples. This controls the world map visibility. * 0 is the default and is the "normal" world map used in 1.1.x and up. Areas appear greyed out once the map was visited for the first time, and fill with white as they are explored. This way, the map layout is given away right from the start, but it's easier to find out which spots on the map were not visited yet. * 1 only draws areas that were really seen. Entering a new map does not give away the rest of the map, and every corner needs to be explored to be sure there was nothing missed. Note that method 1 is quite resource hungry, if you have a slow Intel gfx card it might be better to keep the setting at 0. ** Demo ** If this is enabled, the short intro scene when starting the game (birds, windmills, dragon) will be skipped. A developer build ignores this setting and always skips the intro scenes completely. ** Other ** Allows to override the URL from which the built-in mod downloader pulls the mod list. The default is fg.wzff.de/aqmods/ if not specified. =============== = Disclaimer: = =============== This build comes with absolutely no warranty - use at your own risk. It should work fine though, I use it all the time. ============================= Contact & source information: ============================= The canonical source code can be found at: http://hg.icculus.org/icculus/aquaria/ The source code for this specific build is located at: https://github.com/AquariaOSE/Aquaria Updatepack provided by: http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=65853 - Feel free to send me a PM there - Or email to false.genesis@googlemail.com - Or contact me on twitter: @fgblurb - Or via IRC: #bitblot on irc.esper.net 24th April 2014 | False.Genesis [EOF]
