===================================================== = Unofficial 1.1.3+ update pack for Aquaria = ===================================================== This version comes with bug fixes, speed enhancements, and a bunch of new features. A drawback is that older mods made for 1.1.1 won't work anymore. When you apply this update, keep a copy of the original Aquaria exe/app/binary around, if you want to play older mods. ==================================== = Troubleshooting & Useful Tricks: = ==================================== - If these builds crash, explode, or behave weird, do not blame bit-blot, they have nothing to do with it. Report bugs to me. Scroll down for contact infos. - The saves, screenshots and config (usersettings.xml) are located at the following locations: * Windows: Program Directory. * Linux: ~/.Aquaria/ * Mac OSX: /Users//Library/Application Support/Aquaria/ Note: On OSX Lion, the Library folder is hidden by default. Paste the following into a terminal to make it visible: chflags nohidden ~/Library - If the game runs very slow and you have an Intel graphics card, set displaylists="0" in your usersettings.xml file. (Displaylists turned off is the default, because it reduces performance on many systems.) - If sound cuts out or singing/shooting rapidly causes stuttering, try prebuffering game audio. To do this, set in your usersettings.xml. - There have been cases on windows where TextPad broke the Esc key to open the menu. - If mouse control is all weird, disable joystick/gamepad support. There might be a program/device active that sends bogus joystick commands. - Aquaria captures your mouse. If you use it in windowed mode, press Ctrl+G to ungrab the cursor so it can leave the window. It can be re-grabbed with the same key combo. - Savegames are compatible across game versions and operating systems. Copy and enjoy. - If you use multiple operating systems and own a copy of the game for only one OS, you can easily crossgrade. Get an executable for your respective OS and copy the data files. - There is now a quick-quit option: Alt+F4 on Windows and Linux, or Command+Q on Mac OSX. - Visit http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/ for anything else. =============================== = Notes some config settings: = =============================== In your usersettings.xml, you can set the following options: ** AUDIO: ** This uses more RAM and the game takes slightly longer to load, but it needs less CPU & time when decoding audio. ** VIDEO: ** Activates an additional blur effect for spirit form. When Naija sings, the notes around her will have an additional glow and emit water ripples. If this is enabled, the short intro scene when starting the game (birds, windmills, dragon) will be skipped. =============== = Disclaimer: = =============== This build comes with absolutely no warranty - use at your own risk. It should work fine though, I use it all the time. ============================= Contact & source information: ============================= The canonical source code can be found at: http://hg.icculus.org/icculus/aquaria/ The source code for this specific build is located at: https://bitbucket.org/fgenesis/aquaria Updatepack provided by: http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=65853 - Feel free to send me a PM there, or email to false.genesis@googlemail.com - Or contact me on twitter: @fgblurb 27th May 2012 | False.Genesis [EOF]
